VISION LOSS TROUGH DIABETIC RETINOPATHY

        VISION LOSS TROUGH DIABETIC RETINOPATHY

NORMAL VISION
DEFECTIVE VISION
How does diabetic retinopathy origin vision loss?

body-fluid vessels impaired from diabetic retinopathy can origin vision decrease in two ways:

Fragile, abnormal body-fluid vessels can evolve and leak body-fluid into the center of the eye, distorting vision. This is proliferative retinopathy and is the fourth and most sophisticated stage of the disease.
Fluid can leak into the center of the macula, the part of the eye where sharp, straight-ahead vision occurs. The fluid makes the macula enlarge, distorting vision. This condition is called macular edema. It can happen at any stage of diabetic retinopathy, whereas it is more expected to occur as the disease progresses. About half of the people with proliferative retinopathy also have macular edema.FOR MORE INFO VISIT http://hltcenter.com
